Cheapest variant.: Spare parts

Suitable. Is working. But you have to switch to o-rings, and the clamps that come with the kit suck, and you have to use them.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Basically good, but...

Tedious Installation - Engine Cooling & Air Conditioning

Heater Heat Exchanger fits my 2013 Jetta perfectly. The problem is that the hose connections are TERRIBLE. It looked like the inlets were slightly bent, making it extremely difficult to line up the hose, unless it was absolutely perfect it wouldn't connect properly. After spending way more time connecting them than I needed, I was finally able to properly connect them.

Pros
  • Slim Design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Clamps are not OEM making it difficult to seal without leaking

Was a good try but the clamps are not OEM so it was impossible unless you have other means of sealing, since they were leaking after 2 attempts. to try to get it working and the 2 major auto parts stores in town had no recommendations for repairs or clamps. I had to order from Jeep and it worked perfectly. This part is complex enough for independent efforts, we don't need complex details. Fix some of the clips and I'll order again, but it won't work until then. You cannot use old OEM clamps for

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Poor fit - had potential, barely got it to work.

Poor fit - the pipes don't fit well. If the clamps don't fit, the factory ones won't. Also, do not use factory O-rings. I somehow got it working, but it wasn't that easy and I'm afraid the pipes will leak down the road later.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

DO NOT BUY - Heater Cores

What looked like a good deal ended up frantically calling VW dealers for an OEM heater core before starting work that evening! complete waste of time and money. The hardware supplied with this product does not fit securely onto the flanges, if at all! I wouldn't trust that thing with my car. I had to pound with a rubber mallet to get it right. Once I realized it would work I had to rip it out with pliers and damage the flanges!

Pros
  • Ideal for me
Cons
  • Trade Availability

Clamps and fasteners are not OEM identical.

Clamps and brackets are not OEM identical. The clips provided are too small (thin) to grip the rings together. This may be a faulty assembly judging by production measurements. The vehicle coolant pull-through lines are not angled exactly to the core inlet/outlet like the OEM does. This leaves space between these solid lines and the entrance/exit; an additional problem as the supplied clamps are too small.

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Trust the reviews, this is complete nonsense!

In the process of returning this junk, despite reading all the horrible reviews I couldn't afford the $200 for a factory VW core, so all the other reviews are exactly the same, with new clamps that don't fit and the factory clips don't fit the aftermarket not just the clips, the unit itself doesn't fit in the heater box without extreme force, it's slightly larger than the factory one which I ended up pulling back out and acid cleaning Factory one and reinstall it so I'm currently back to hot…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Reliability
