Beware of installation problems

The Revain installation calculator said it would fit in a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer, but it didn't. He was too small. They also charged me for the return shipping for their mistake. Not happy with this purchase. waste of time and money.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • old

Still works, but could be better.

yhe ID> slightly smaller than the OEM hose so you have to make an effort to tighten it. The thickness of the hose is much thinner than the OEM hose, it probably won't last as long. Still works, but could be better.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • useless features

Buy from dealer

Will not fit 2001 Ford Explorer as stated by Revane. I even had the same part number from the parts store. The inner diameter of the hose is much larger than it should be. I put it on anyway, may have to come up with something to make it tighter.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Fits well, but installation can be tricky.

The size is perfect for my 99 lead but the installation is painful. Installation Recommendations. 1) Remove the rear tire. 2) If the clamp cannot be removed from both sides, use a metal hand saw. From the gas tank side things get a little tricky. 3) If the hose is not easy to remove after removing the clamp, use a utility knife to cut the hose, it will slip off immediately. 4) It's hard to get the hose, you'll think it won't fit, but be patient and keep trying. I used lithium grease on the hose

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Has problems

Dry rotted in just a few years.

Initially this hose worked well and fitted perfectly. The problem is that it only lasted a few years and I keep my Explorer in the garage most of the time. The wire mesh in the lining is now visible when I press the hose anywhere on it. And I smell fuel fumes after driving for a while. For me this is unacceptable for the fuel hose. I think get at least 5 years out of them, not just a few years. I also doubt I have a bad hose. So if you are looking for a long-term solution, look elsewhere as you

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Minor issues
