🔧 Spectra Premium TD97 Distributor: Enhanced Performance and Reliability Review

Was very surprised at the quality of this part and very grateful I spent the extra money as it really looks like a solid quality assembly. It was a perfect fit - took about 15 minutes to install and the car started straight away with no problems. Bought for my '98 Honda CR-V. An update is released a year later to report durability and reliability. ***Update*** 2 months old and still working great!

Bought as an aftermarket replacement for another unknown brand that was fitted by the previous owner about 30,000 miles ago and was beginning to fail intermittently. Problems with the ignition controller. So far I have driven 10000 km, it works well. Quality is good, assembly is easy. There are some good YouTube videos that describe the process very well.

Just after day one: Well, I'm writing a review almost on day one of ownership. Watching the videos on YouTube I expected there would be more issues with this but it was really easy. Just replace the old one with this one, make sure the rotor is pointing in the right direction and voila! Working car. It has been working great in my CR-V at the moment and has been working for the past few days. I will edit this review in a few months to give you an update. So far it's been great.

Pros: Works right away and fixes the ultimate cause of my misfire problem, the original was 23 years old and I hope this one lasts as long. First bought cheap Chinese junk from Revain for less than half the price of this one. Big mistake. You get what you pay for. It was DOA. Yes, I know what I'm doing. On a 1998 Honda CRV, this is fallacious. The protrusions on the spline are slightly offset and indented on one side so you can't rotate it 180 degrees.
