🐠 25-Pound Bag of Spectrastone Deep River Regular, Ideal for Freshwater Aquariums Review

Beautiful, natural base. It needs a thorough rinse, but that's only a small part of the job compared to how well it looks in the aquarium.

A little smaller than I thought from the photo and less red. It only took one flush. Two bags fit in my 55 gallon tank and I haven't had any water issues since. Not as shiny as pictured but I like it. Here is a photo in my aquarium.

The color was not what I expected. The stones I received were mainly white and brown. However, they weren't that dirty and still look good and serve their purpose. I use them in the aquarium as a top substrate to keep the soil in the pot.

This is a high quality, natural colored aquarium gravel. It was very clean and required minimal rinsing. I use it in an aquaponics tank and it looks good. I'm not a fan of the obviously wrong colors of lots of gravel. I want my aquarium to look more natural.

Color was all brown not as red as pictured. In my photos, the dark brown stones are Spectrastone gravel. I first added Spectrastone gravel for $30 (for £25) and then bought light weight stones from Home Depot for less than $5 for £50 called PEA GRAVEL. $5 gravel looks better and costs a lot less.

I'm deducting a star because the gravel I received doesn't look like the picture . I was expecting more red tones in the mix but it's mostly grey. It comes with no prewash but I've only rinsed it a few times and it's been fine. I like the natural look but wish there was more red in the mix.
