Great quality journal books

I love these Quattro notebooks. It's a kind of heavy watercolor paper that doesn't bleed and takes almost any kind of ink well. It has a tooth so charcoal and pencil works well too. The binding is solid and holds up to being carried around in a back pocket or shirt pocket day-to-day. Over time the cardboard backing can come loose but usually by then I have filled up the notebook. They don't stay as flat as some other books but that seems to be a tradeoff you have to make between lighter-weight…

Pros
  • Sketchbooks & Notebooks
Cons
  • While the journal's spiral-bound design allows for easy flipping between pages, it may also make it more difficult to create seamless, panoramic works that extend across multiple sheets of paper

Great for creative people who are compulsive list makers.

OK it is pricey but I love this notebook. Great unlined paper in a vertical format. Great for creative people who are compulsive list makers.

Pros
  • The compact size of the Speedball Quattro Artist Sketch Journal makes it easy to take on-the-go, allowing artists to capture inspiration wherever they may be
Cons
  • The journal's paper quality may be insufficient for use with certain mediums, such as watercolor or markers, which could bleed through or cause the pages to wrinkle or warp
