I usually find that cases are not needed for mobile phones but are necessary for tablets as they stay in the pocket along with other things that can scratch the screen. If you don't need a case part then definitely the best case choice. Inexpensive, durable and offers plenty of space from the case to the tablet to protect against short falls. I'm coming back with a case on a case.

I've had a Spigen Rugged Armor case for multiple phones and it's historically been a pretty solid choice for the money. It wasn't Otterbox quality, but Otterbox doesn't make cases for many non-Samsung or Apple phones. Spigen makes cases for a lot more phones and sells them for a lot less too. Fits my Pixel 4a case from the same company! The only downside I mentioned is that the case covers the docking contacts on the long edge of the Galaxy Tab. Not only does this become an issue when you want to dock your keyboard, but as in my scenario, I bought a Samsung Charging Dock Pogo at the same time and it requires this docking pin to charge the tablet. So either a case (which I need because of the slick tablet) or a charging station. One must be returned. We must now make a choice.

Breathe in a Spigen case for my phone so I knew I could count on the brand. The only feature that would make it a 5 would be the addition of a fold out kickstand (make it a 2 position rotation while I suggest improvements) so it can be placed on a surface or lap to hold hands free to see.
