I'm so glad I found this. This magazine is small enough to keep in the ice holder in my freezer, but large enough to scoop ice out of my automatic ice maker. There is also a magnet on the handle for hanging. I just throw it back in the ice box in the freezer. There is no cold metal handle to grasp. I buy more for Christmas gifts.

I changed my original review because I found the handle had a powerful magnet built in that attached to the fridge just not in the orientation I preferred. Otherwise a great article. I bought it to attach to my fridge but it didn't come with a magnet as advertised. I didn't send it back because I really like how the ice slides away without getting stuck. But I had to buy a magnetic hook to hang it up.

Originally I was looking to buy a metal scoop to replace the one that tarnished in the dishwasher. Tripped over some plastic ice scoops. This one had a slightly longer handle in comparison, and I thought it would be more comfortable to use. Fits perfectly in the ice basket of our fridge. The ice scoop is durable and easy to use. The advantage of a plastic shovel is that the hand does not freeze when using it. Can be washed in the dishwasher.

I bought this for an ice cream scoop. I didn't like the crescent shape my fridge ice maker makes for drinks. They tend to land on the rim of the glass, curved side up, blocking the "spill-proof" drink. I bought a pair of silicone ice cube molds that make small rounded cubes. I use a separate bin to store these cubes, and when my bin is so full that the scoop won't fit in the bin, I can attach the scoop to the side of my fridge (or something metal nearby) with the magnet in his grip.
