Soft material, waist band adjusts for size but has a drawstring for medium sized kids. Bought these for my niece as I couldn't find any "girly" shorts in nearby stores that weren't obscenely short. She loves them and I will buy more.

I ordered these in size M for my 9 year old son. Firmly. Instead I ordered a small which says it's a size 5-6. It's still falling. The next smaller size is 4T...no thanks. Also the quality of the material is good and I like the style but they won't fit us.

These shorts are good quality and true to size. A little long but I like it because they will last forever. It's very hard to find shorts with an elastic waistband, real drawstrings (most of which are fake), and pockets. I bought a pair for my little one to see how they were and he liked them so I bought a matching pair for my older boy and then got another pair for both in a different color. Very happy! (shorts left 2T, right 3T)
