SPRING SHOCK SS MEDIUM DUTY

So guys and gals, Revane wants me to review the spring. What can I say. Well the quality is good, looks good on the back of my old rusty car. If I plug a two meter antenna into the socket, the SWR does not change. Works very well with my scanner antennas. Neither antenna makes a "spoinnnnnnnnnng" sound if I stop too fast. It gets really annoying after a while. :-)

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • No

Useless at high speeds

Medium mode Review only. If you only use it for off-road crawling, then everything is fine. However, if you drive the Autobahn like me, then stay away. It's supposed to support a 3ft stick, but anything over 55mph and the antenna will jump. Came over a small bump and it wobbles a lot. I wish I could just buy a 4" antenna and skip the 3" antenna with this spring combo. I wonder how much better the HD version will be.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Heavy and Truck Spring Fling

I found this spring with the 3" Firestik antenna just dangles and wiggles (looks like a dog wagging its tail while driving) when driven. down the road). However, it flexes well and protects the antenna from branches when off-road. This has become my off-road spring. Just note that your antenna will bend and slip under a branch and then snap back and onto the roof, that Hardtop, etc. (SUPER annoying in PNW) Unfortunately, the heavy spring is too stiff for my application and the middle spring is…

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Useless Features
