As much as I love this part it was a pain to put together. You'd think with something crafted in just a few pieces, that would be easy! The hole matching for each of the shelf components was frustrating, I ended up having to disassemble and reassemble differently because the instructions made it so much more difficult. The item itself is not worth what I paid for but I like it and it looks great in the room it was bought for. That's it.

A beautiful easy to assemble ladder bookcase. The main issue is the height of the railing on each shelf. Because they were placed high rather than low (or both would have been better), the books must be placed perfectly and tightly packed on the shelves or they could fall out from underneath. It really needs a bottom bar to avoid this. This is really very annoying! BUT, it looks good, it's easy to set up (in 30 minutes) and it seems sturdy for the weight of the books.

Bought two. For the price I wasn't impressed. It costs half. One had the correct parts, although the largest shelf had extra glue. One had a duplicate portion of B2 although it is marked to add B1 and B2. Pooh. I requested a replacement and explained that I only need ONE correct part. I had to take the whole damn shelf. To assemble the upper parts are put on the lower parts, both made of metal. One side went through with no problems, but the other didn't. The top was about 1/8 inch wider. It was extremely difficult to move it far enough to fit on the floor. It took me at least 20 minutes and a lot of strength to finally assemble it. Once set up, it looks good and serves its purpose. It was easy enough to assemble and looks good. However, the quality of the materials did not convince me. After I took it out of the box, one of the bottom plugs, a plastic plug, broke and the chick fell off. One of the shelves was also damaged, they are made of laminate. The materials seem pretty cheap so I'm not sure if it's worth the price. We put it together pretty easily, you need to use an Allen key for the whole thing. I ordered this unit and built it myself despite the vague instructions. My side panels are at an odd angle and I'm not sure if they should be or not. In the picture you can almost see that it goes straight up. When I went to align the shelves there were four holes in each shelf but only two holes in the metal frame. Well, first it arrived two days late, then it was packed like a box within a box with some useless bubble wrap haphazardly inserted inside. Each piece is labeled with a small sticker so you can follow directions, almost everything was mislabeled. The building instructions are just dope, I highly recommend building left to right or right to left - in the building instructions you build each side first, then fasten them with horizontal bars and then by the grace of God put shelves inside.
