beast mode! for hole saws

Use it to cut recessed light holes in plaster and fins and it's a real beast. This is actually the second one I've bought, not because the first one died but because my boss wanted one...hell!

Pros
  • Cutting depth up to 2"
Cons
  • High price

not recommended for punchboards

I used to cut a 6 inch hole for my punchboard (white birch), its initial resistance is high, uncontrollable so it bounces around a lot. I later switched to a fine tooth bi-metal hole saw of the same size but cheaper from Menards and it worked great. Not recommended for perforated panels, maybe better for other applications.

Pros
  • Cuts 5x faster than traditional hole saws
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Worst hole saw I have ever used!

Bought this and another Spyder bit at a time for installing jigs in drywall and 3/8" plywood. BOTH are just the worst bits I've ever tasted. both are extremely unbalanced to the point where they are dangerous to use. I've tried 2 different corded drills, my old Hole Hawg and the new Dewalt. No difference, DO NOT TRY TO USE ANY OF THEM WITH A CORDLESS DRILL - you could break something (e.g. yourself. If you put it on a flat surface and check with a ruler you can see that it deforms This makes…

Pros
  • Carbide tip for longer life and clean cuts
Cons
  • Discontinued
