Excellent repair flux - welding and soldering

Excellent repair flux, very good for QFP, TSOP, SOIC in drag soldering, holds heat very well. Has no strong odor. It was definitely better than the Kester RF741 which is very sharp.

    Pros
    • Slight pleasant smell
    Cons
    • I vaguely remember

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well with the least amount of toxic chemicals.

I like the SRA tacky flux because it has the lowest amount of toxic chemicals (according to the MSDS) compared to others. It cleans well and does its job well: removes corrosion and acts as a wetting agent. I love it and will buy more in the future.

    Pros
    • No Clean Tacky Flux which is less smelly and tackier than anything else on the market
    Cons
    • Has problems

Perfect. Tacky but does not interfere with repositioning

Excellent flux for repair or assembly. It's pleasantly sticky. Allows the SMD to be moved around easily, but is also sticky enough to hold the elements together until they melt. This is a good balance and is recommended. But one thing needs to be clear: Yes, you CAN do without post-reflow PCB assembly cleaning, but WHY? A few minutes in the ultrasonic cleaning will do wonders and show off the bright, shiny fillets of solder it can produce. Use with confidence, but CLEAN after assembly is…

    Pros
    • This flux leaves very shiny solder joints, is non-corrosive and non-conductive
    Cons
    • High price

Good price for welding and soldering

I ordered this on Wednesday and received it in less than a week. I have used ChipQuik No Clean Tack before and decided to give it a try. I use it with SOIC to remove and replace them. The only real difference between ChipQuik and that sticky flux is the smell when the flux burns. The ChipQuik smells a little better and the TF-5000 smells like burnt Purell. I didn't mind the smell but some people might be put off by it and that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise it worked just as…

    Pros
    • Won't leak all over the PCB when applied
    Cons
    • Expensive
