Aluminum housing in impressive quality! The $19.99 USB 3.0 and USB-C versions are great value!

After returning a flimsy and too tight option that broke immediately upon reassembly, these high quality SSK aluminum cases are exactly what I was hoping for! Everything about these SSK cases strikes me as high quality. The outer casing is nice and solid and just looks and feels high quality. The screws that are part of the construction are also of high quality and really add an extra look to this case. Assembly is child's play - even a small screwdriver is included! The inner car is made ofโ€ฆ

Holes for attaching Outer Care are not drilled.

On two orders, the outer case mounting holes were not drilled and aligned correctly to allow for the installation of the outer case mounting screws. I received 3 cases in one order with this problem. After informing SSK about the problem, I still received a product with the same problem on my next order. If you need it for a one-time cloning application, the $8.99 USB Micro-B case might work just fine without properly securing the outer case. If you need it for your intended use as a remoteโ€ฆ

Robust and stylish housing, ideal for extended use

--- No insulating film included? It can be glued to the inside of the box. Check carefully. It's white and hard to see. If not, just use a small piece of plastic wrap. --- I have a lot of used 2.5" hard drives and wanted to use one as a permanent backup drive. I chose this case because it has a fully protective aluminum body and the hard drive is secured to the case with screws, eliminating the possibility of it being dropped in the correct orientation causing the hard drive to dislodge fromโ€ฆ

A simple performance test. Works perfectly!

External drive SSK 2.5 HHD. Received on 10/01/19 Package Contents: The box contained an aluminum case, a USB cable, screws, instructions and a square one-sided transparent film. The tape in my box didn't match the picture in the manual and wasn't labeled, so I assumed it was the tape used to protect the bottom of the hard drive from contact with the metal case.
