Size L was too short for my boot

Just in case I wear Lowa Cevedale Pro GTX mountaineering boots in size 12 (please google as I don't have a picture) and size Large was about 3/ 4" short to fully cover the heel of the boot. My only measurement is 12.5" long. I returned the large and ordered the XLarge, I will comment when I get it Thursday night.

    Best cleats for winter hiking

I walk my dogs every day no matter the weather. I was skeptical about the shape of the spikes, but they didn't disappoint. My feet have never slipped on any surface and I can take a full stride. I overtake everyone on the path and sidewalks confident I won't fall. I like that the design of the boots stays on the boots and doesn't come off while walking, and the spikes themselves are replaceable. I can't recommend them enough!

So far so good!: Shoes, Jewelry and Watch Accessories

First of all I haven't used them half a dozen times, so here's a rundown of my first impressions. They seem to be very well made and fit great! I'm a very fat guy and I slide on ice like a pig on ice. I never slipped. You can see in the photos that I removed the straps as they hold up great without them, but I don't hike or walk in very deep snow so keep that in mind. I took off the straps because as a fat man it was harder for me to put them on. I recommend them and bought a pair for my wife…

The size is larger for insulated boots.

My wife has bean shaped padded boots in size 8 so we ordered them in size medium 8.5-12. It required a bit of stretching at the toe and overall length to fit over the boot. They fit well. She threw away her yak tracks because the free ends of the feathers caught and he stumbled. They are of much higher quality and not more expensive than stock items (used). They don't look particularly used. I have the original Maxx model and they fit me very well too. Since they are so snug fitting, regularly…

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it works. I had another Stabilicer product (STABIlicers Maxx Original Heavy Duty) last winter that worked GREAT on icy trails and frozen streams, but the velcro didn't hold up. Seriously, the Velcro only lasted 5 uses (hiking 5-10 miles on icy, packed trails. Nothing special). I didn't want to order it again as other reviewers have had the same experience. I ordered this product and at first glance it's definitely a lot stronger, but the ice grip wasn't as

Closer to what I'm looking for but still no cigar

You have the straps I need. You have the style of boot I'm looking for. But they're still clumsy, twisty, rubbery ones who refuse to cooperate when you try to put them on shoes or boots. I'm just looking for something. I can also put them on anywhere from the car and then just take them off, just open up and take them off doesn't seem like a big deal, then quickly put them on when I'm at the car door about to leave again. For example, large sandals with spikes. Minimal snowshoes with spikes…

    Excellent traction in most conditions.

Ordered last winter. I didn't have a chance to use them so I waited to leave a review. Now for several months I've been doing winter weekends at a local park on snow covered trails, roads and trails. They work best when you have snow to step into. They need something to dig into to give you the best grip and then they work really well. The trails I ride are small but steep in places and the STABIlicers tires provide the grip I need. I can tackle trails with confidence knowing I won't slip like…

BEST Winter Hiking Spikes HANDS (and Feet) DOWN

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and am a professional dog breeder, which means I take packs of dogs off-leash on mountain trails every day, year-round, rain, snow or sun. At least 7 months a year there are hikes on ice, snow and mud. I have been doing this for many years and have seriously tried all types of spikes, tines and cambers on the market and so far have been dissatisfied with some aspects of each. Chain micro spikes work well on ice, but are cumbersome on long hikes and TERRIBLE in…

Works great: Accessories for shoes, jewelry and watches

I like the fit and the stabilizer is very reliable. I wore them in Michigan for a month during the winter and haven't had a single slip or fall. They work well on hills and steep driveways. On uneven ice that looked like tire tracks, I could feel them sometimes slip an inch or two and push through the snow when my heels were up. I tested them on a mound of clear/glazed/shiny ice and they actually slid an inch before the spikes smashed into them. I had no problems on hoarfrost and other ice and…
