I'm still looking for a well thought out version of this device. Unfortunately this is not the case. The blades are not sharp enough to crack the shell, resulting in bruising. The mechanisms have too much play, resulting in poor performance. Great idea, terrible execution.

Very handy tool. Use it almost every day. The yolk breaks half the time, but that's not a problem for me. Very quick removal of the eggshell without having to touch it. Definitely recommend it. I've seen some negative reviews but not sure what the point is as I didn't notice any cons.

Bought this for my son who loves to cook especially his favorite eggs. He has limited mobility in his right arm, making it difficult to crack eggs. This egg cracker has completely changed that. It is very simple, quick to use, requires little to no effort and is easy to clean. The kitchen utensil was a huge turning point for my young sons independence!

I bought this for one handed use after surgery thinking it would break the shell but keep the yolk intact. It did it a few times but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any magic that did it repeatedly. So if you don't mind broken yolks for, say, an omelet, then that's fine. If you need an intact yolk for poached eggs, separating egg whites, or anything else, then this isn't for you.

So I bought 4 of these thinking I would use them as stocking fillers. I returned 3 of them. I found out about this gadget and thought it was a cool idea. I'm keeping one because it seems to be working. You need to get the egg the right size, place it in the right position, and apply the right amount of pressure. or the egg will just explode. I like it for myself but I wouldn't give it away because if something goes wrong it's a real mess.
