Overall width including 3/8 outer protective sleeve. I forgot to take the cable off the trailer and tie it down when I left and the cable broke at 5 mph.

I didn't really realize how thin this cable actually is until it came in the mail. I suppose it's ok for luggage but I was hoping to use it for other security purposes such as locking a bike. I changed my mind as soon as I saw the true diameter.

I knew it wasn't very big but that's a joke. This is a thin braid of very thin wire that doesn't hold anything together. This 6.5 foot cable didn't even cover my palm (see photo). I wouldn't want to rely on it to protect my bike or anything. Complete waste.

I bought this to secure the front and rear wheels of my bike as they are quick release skewers. Stealing a rear wheel is a huge expense! The bike is always locked with a heavy kryptonite U-lock and the cable is simply slipped onto the U-lock with its large loops at the ends.

As the saying goes, "as strong as the weakest link". I had one of those combo master links and it only lasted two years with moderate use. The bollard snapped off like a branch. This chain has a smooth finish to prevent hacksaw cuts and the lock looks much more durable. My only reservation is the rough inner edges of the lock. They could have been smoothed out better.

Serious doubts about stainless steel. All descriptions refer to "steel" cable with corrosion resistant vinyl coating. Not a 3/8 cable but a 3/16 cable with a different 3/16 vinyl cover. All other sellers on Amazon list the actual cable diameter along with the outside diameter of the vinyl which is very misleading as the ring clip is made out of aluminum not steel. There are other sellers selling a better item for the same price.
