Good choice for my shelf!

I installed a PortaMate PBR-001 wood storage rack in my workshop. The instructions recommended 1/4" x 3" fasteners for installing the studs, and I wanted a truss head so I didn't have to worry about the tapered head of the screw hitting the steel post. These bolts fit the bill perfectly - I chose stainless steel for durability and rust resistance. Excellent service. Nicely packaged. I just completed a project (18" x 32" flower box) using 36 of these stainless steel screws. I had absolutely no scalping as some other reviewers seemed to experience. Maybe people should try drilling a pilot hole to reduce torque pressure on the shaft if they haven't already. These screws are well designed, milled and machined. The unit price is quite cheap compared to the big stores. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware etc. I highly recommend this product.

Bigger heads mean more mounts (and way bigger and better than the Hillman brand at Lowes & HD)

Once again, good old Revain OUT PERFORMEs are none other than Lowes and Home Depot when it comes to stainless steel ( ss). ) hardware. Both Lowes and Home Depot sell Hillman brand fasteners. Hillman brand 3" nuts will NOT work with 3/8"-16 bolts and must be removed with a power saw. In this case, Hillman brand sockets are literally half the outside diameter of these sockets, meaning THIS CONNECTION has greater holding power than Hillman, which can easily be "overloaded" by your Dewalt power…
