🖥️ Stainless Steel HDD Cage, 5.25" to 5x 3.5" Rack SAS SATA HDD Cage, Hard Drive Tray with Fan Space - Drive Cage Adapter Rack Bracket Review

Like most people who search for drive bays online, I'm building a NAS at home. At first I wanted to buy more expensive full body carriers, but recently found that all those extra parts lead to a lot of points of failure. I could talk endlessly about other cases, but this cage is the best choice for cooling, durability, cost, and reliability. I definitely recommend trying this cage before buying traditional $80 cases.

I have had many different cages but this one was not only very valuable it also had five (5) compartments! I already have them running! I would like to point out that not only can it be used as is, but it can also be folded on its side and used for three (3) DVD/CD slots if you prefer it that way. The cage doesn't matter if it's for IDE or SATA as they are often generic (which makes it even more convenient/practical!). I will DEFINITELY buy this item again!

Only bought 7 lots out of 3 just to keep a few drives. Nothing out of the ordinary, but gets the job done and keeps the drives cool enough. The first batch of 5 discs worked as expected but the last 2 had sizing issues. One of them barely fit the width of the panes and required some effort. The latter was too small (about 1/8" wide) to fit in my drives, which I didn't realize until I installed the fan, which was a problem. Overall decent quality. The plastic drive rails were a little cheap, but they work. I had to modify the peripheral bay in my case and bend the tabs that usually hold the CD drive and other things. Mounting holes on the cage were plentiful and there were no issues adjusting the drive bay and bracket. Once in the subject is strong. It does what it says on the tin. Up to five 3.5" drives in three 5.25" drive bays. Add your own 120mm fan and drives stay nice and cool. The plastic slot adapters fit the drive's outer mounting holes, so they should work with newer drives like the 8TB drive that don't have center mounting holes. However, they are made of hard plastic, so when you push to release the clamps and remove the drive from the case, the plastic always seems to break before the drive is released.
