You can usually just pull it through an orange or potato peel and it glides effortlessly and as you can see in my video I have to wiggle it back and forth to cut it. I like it very much. The one I had was in two pieces and part of the blade kept falling out of the hilt. It is wonderful! It's very sharp, so I try not to cut my knuckles. The ends are great for making eyes out of potatoes. I have back problems and standing at the sink peeling lots of potatoes is excruciating.
