🚪 Outdoor Stairway Special Baby/Pet Gate - Brown Color Review

The gate was used on the landing at the top of the deck stairs - one floor up. Even my grandson and puppy were able to meet through the gate! And the brown metal goes well with my light wood deck.

This gate was easy to install and my grandson has yet to figure out how to get it out. We used it to close the end of the deck and it looks great. Will post again once I see if it holds up to the elements.

We bought this gate for our super 'problem solver' child 6 months ago after reading about it in Wirecutter. We just bought another one because it's really strong and efficient. Our baby understands everything and manages to get in and out. This door is the only thing that could stop them. for now :-P The gate is also relatively easy to assemble.

Installed at an early stage when a double strength test before first use revealed the top metal gasket had failed, effectively causing the worst situation at the top of the stairs : The child who slides and falls from the scenario stairs is a potentially fatal injury. I am very disappointed but also grateful that I found a design/manufacturing error before going live. I feel it my duty to share this issue about a product promoting a stair safe.

A very good product for my purpose. It's also very well done. I have the outdoor version as it has stainless steel hardware that will not rust from the elements on my deck. I just installed it and adjusted the expandable gate to fit my opening. It was pretty easy. A bit pricey but I was thinking of building a gate out of wood but on cost analysis I found it would cost about the same for wood plus I would have to build it. I've been looking for a long time and have been looking for a ladder tip that can be set at an angle. Our staircase is not level because the walls are of different lengths and the railing interferes with the path on one side. I saw another photo from the reviewer (thanks!) and realized this might work for us. After reading the reviews I realized not to buy a wooden one even though it looked better for the room.
