Stanley have been making shop vacuums for many years and most people I know consider them to be the best shop vacuums. I see no reason why it won't last me 13+ years.

I've had it for a few months now. Totally happy with it. It doesn't have suction like my previous vacuum but the previous one had a lot more. Be sure to check the vacuum containers for parts when they arrive. I'm glad I read the previous reviewer's warning about this. I wish there was a built in way to control the hose. However, it's easy enough to wrap the tubing around the top and tuck it in loosely.

When the vacuum cleaner in my house started wheezing, I wasn't willing to shell out 200-250 for a new vacuum cleaner for the house. This item is light enough to carry around and use in both places. Good suction to pick up all the dog hair from the couch as well as sawdust from tools. The only downside is that the attachment cannot be attached directly to any of my tools. I had to get some adapters for this, but I don't mind giving them away in this situation.

RIP - My dear little Stanley Shop Vac - Only 7 months old. I have no idea why. Used for lighthouse cleaning, no wet work. Wanted to use it and the poor thing won't turn on. Still looking for warranty information. Revine boldly pointed me to the manufacturer. But who? Hmmmm.Update: Found company, altonindustries, a simple email and they send a new powerhead. I give one star for poor quality.

I bought this to fix my air conditioner. My drain line was plugged and backed up in every house. A moment with that vacuum and it sucked the duct and my air conditioner started working again! The filter is optional. And you can use it wet or dry as long as you make sure it is dry when you use it dry. Also, I didn't know it had a kick function. That's cool. I don't need it, but it's nice to know it's an option. It was really easy to clean too. The canister was very light.

I have a very busy grooming salon - over 600 dogs a month - and that's a TON of fur to clean! This small vacuum cleaner is durable, has good suction and is easy to clean. We don't have to empty 2-3 times a day, but we can wait and do it at the end of the day unless we're working on newbies! We bought an extended hose and cord with a plug and we can keep this little guy in one place and clean our entire nursing room, bathroom, office and bathroom without unplugging it. Highly recommended!

We bought a Stanley wet/dry vacuum from Sam's Club a while ago to use on some home renovation projects that included a lot of drywall sanding dust. We were so happy with the vacuum that we decided to get another one so we could only use it for regular house cleaning. This vacuum cleaner has the same size and power but a different diameter, stiffer and shorter hose and no brush head. We had to search a long time for a brush that fits this hose. I prefer the less stiff hose of a project vacuum…

Quiet! And it sucks! As a carpenter/carpenter I've been to dozens of vacuum cleaners. Most of them sound like a tornado hitting a house and you must wear hearing protection while working. Well, there is no risk of hearing loss. Even my 90 year old mother (who hates Vacs) has asked me to use this Stanley several times since it arrived. The only drawback is the length of the cable.
