Not quite the same as the original design (OE is more like the more expensive Mishimoto thermostats) but fits well and works well, most importantly. Cheaper than buying locally and still quite practical.

Replaced the reversing thermostat in Duramax when I was replacing another. 6.6 liter diesel engines require 2 thermostats.

Works well but could give you a larger opening for water flow. The path for water passage seems small to me for the size of the unit.
