Good quality - mine was Made in Germany

After many cheap $8 thermostats failed in my old GM car I am glad this stant unit installed in my 2006 Subaru Outback was essential as it is given where needed change it. I did this as part of a timing belt change and the required seal was also included. Make sure you position it correctly in the thermostat housing as the small bypass plug needs to be in a hole in the housing to seat properly.

Pros
  • 172 f opening temperature; 1 year warranty
Cons
  • I don't remember

Works as expected in my 2003 Subaru Forester

I had a bad experience with a professional service where I paid a lot of money for a 90,000 service. They installed a cheap 210 degree thermostat in my 2003 Forester. The temp gauge on my car was almost always just below the red line. I could go back and have them look at my car AGAIN for the third time. Since I no longer trust them, I bought this thermostat and installed it myself. It took less than an hour and my engine was running normally again. This is a great replacement for the stock…

Pros
  • Quality construction ensures a precise fit and long trouble free life.
Cons
  • Requires socket

NO OEM specification for a 1999 Subaru Impreza despite claims here!

Does not match Subaru original equipment. The thermostat that was delivered did not look like the picture: it was shorter, with a thinner spring that twisted less. This is definitely NOT an OE equivalent of Subaru Part #21200AA072 as stated in the description. I've read a few times of other Subaru owners who got third party thermostats and had overheating issues. I find they don't open as fully as the Subaru part. Since this is significantly smaller than the original, I don't want to risk it…

Pros
  • Fitment Type: Vehicle specific
Cons
  • Slightly torn
