I initially ordered XS for my 6 year old who wears a size 8 and S for my 9 year old who wears a size 10/12. When I received them, XS and S were almost the same size. UPDATE: washed and hot dried and it has shrunk 1-2 inches in the sizes listed below. First please listen to the reviews saying they are BIG. I bought blue for a little boy.
