Measurement range of 0 to 6" (150mm), and precise to 0.0005" (0.01mm). High-contrast LCD digital readout displays in inches or metric. Fine adjustment thumb roll and lock to hold slide position. Steel scriber can reference zero from bottom of the base to obtain full usable range. Hardened, stainless steel bar for durability. Easy-to-read LCD .32-Inch high characters. Hardened, stainless steel bar for long life. Depth attachment PT08680A available for measuring depth of holes, slots, and recesses. Fine adjustment thumb roll for precision measurements. Starrett quality sized

Works great, my only complaint is the scriber doesn't sink to the bottom of the base. I am planning to make one or order a replacement from a pole of a different height and hope it will fit. I do a lot of things that require me to paint closer to the surface of the panel than it allows and I missed that when I bought it.

I think this is the best compact digital altimeter.

Great tool at a great price considering it's a Starrett. Delivered in a handy aluminum case, packed in the well-known, robust red Starrett box. I bought a similar one from Rockler - just junk compared to him. Very happy with my purchase. $40 saved compared to LittleMachineShop.com with taxes and shipping. Back then they had free shipping, about $25 off, so saved about $40 on a Revain order.

Well it's basically a $100 digital caliper running on a precision machined steel base. Considering an expensive deal it was $230 for Starrett or $600 for Mitutoyo which is probably about the same quality. It's somewhat handy for other hobby projects as well, but it's probably overkill compared to cheaper but still competent tools.
