Review on πŸ“ Starrett 3751AZ 6 150 Electronic Height Gauge by Kirk Womack

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A little pricey for a good steel based caliper, but better than Mitutoyo

Well it's basically a $100 digital caliper running on a precision machined steel base. Considering an expensive deal it was $230 for Starrett or $600 for Mitutoyo which is probably about the same quality. It's somewhat handy for other hobby projects as well, but it's probably overkill compared to cheaper but still competent tools. Anyway, I went with Starrett, it works great and gives accurate and reproducible results - so no regrets. hp Because the scriber holder (a rectangular piece with a set screw) doesn't actually sit flat when tightened, you'll need to remove it in most cases.

Pros
  • Round nose scriber cuts clean, sharp lines with smoothness and less pressure
Cons
  • Not sure
