Latching Power Splitter Adapter by StarTech Com: Efficiently Distribute and Connect Multiple Devices Review

I used it to transfer power between a solid state drive (SSD, low power consumption) and a USB-C PCI-e card in my Mac Pro to distribute. On my Mac Pro, I had to break the latch on the end that connects to the motherboard (easy to do), but other applications may not require this. The length was perfect for accessing devices. Quality appears to be excellent as the conductors did not come out of the connectors when the ends of the cable were angled to match devices.

They work great and the price is pretty reasonable. The only thing I would suggest to those who need a little more info is to make sure between there is enough room for them to close the computer lid, I bought a few recently and not sure if they are still available, but the one with the tuck-in angle and not the protruding end allowed me to close the computer lid , without damaging the adapter.(Chase chase)

I added a third drive to my Dell desktop and needed a different SATA power connector, so I decided to try this splitter. But when I plugged it in, the PSU on the machine started whistling and the machine wouldn't boot. Tried both connections, the result is the same - does not work. So I bought another adapter that worked. I assume it had a short in the connector. This sometimes seems to happen with SATA power connectors. Anyway, I was able to get my money back.
