Enhance Your Storage Efficiency with StarTech Com M 2 2 5In SATA Adapter Review

The device keeps showing up as a blank USB drive or blank DVD that Disk Management can't handle. I've tried several different NVMe drives, separate enclosures, and also installed the drive and adapter in a tower computer with the same issues. The device just doesn't convert M2 to SATA as intended and I'll have to look elsewhere for a suitable case. Sent back for a refund.

I feel deceived, the name clearly says M.2, M.2 to 2.5 SSD Enclosure. The product has arrived and my Fircuda M.2 drive does not fit. I wasn't planning on damaging my Firecuda so I did some research, these people started the header with M.2 and then further down the header it says M.2 NGFF. Like what?!? I'm so angry that I wasted my time. Undertaker beware. I've bought a lot of Startech crap in the past and I'm starting to see a trend. Although this product appears to be well constructed.

I'm still testing this with various M.2 SSDs. I'm not sure why Samsung M.2 SSD 850 and 960 series are not recognized during installation. The system sees it as a removable disk with no storage capacity. More on that later.

I bought this because I really needed something to extract files from the M.2 SATA SSD I was using as my boot drive before switching to SSD NVMe. I used two adapters in my Startech cloner model USB 3.0 and I got mixed results. I've cloned other drives, updating basically everything without a hard reboot and never had a crash. I cloned a Windows 10 drive so I could upgrade to a much larger SSD than the one that came with the laptop and it ran for about 16 hours.
