Lost connection

I liked the fact that the panel mount part of the cable is protected from the elements during installation. However, after a few months of use, the cable on the B jack side became intermittent. In my application, the female side B has experienced fewer than 50 mating/unmating cycles in her lifetime. At first, the problem was solved by simply shaking it. After about 5 months, the female B-side became more and more intermittent until communication was no longer possible. A toothpick and careful…

complex installation

If I had to do something again, I would probably look for a round variant that would be much easier to install. They are probably designed for a 2mm thick case. So if you're installing on a piece of plywood, for example, there's quite a bit to do. Essentially you have to create two cutouts that line up very precisely, so it's very labor intensive.
