Description of πŸ”Œ MicroStepping Subdivision Controller: Stepper DC9 42V

This driver is an upgraded version of TB6600 and with plastic cover. The subdivision is increased to 32 subdivision, which is suitable for high subdivision. Suitable for drive Two-phase stepping motor dynamic voltage 9V to 42V, the maximum drive current is less than 4A. Suitable for step motor:NEMA(17,23) 42, 57 type 2 phase 4 phase (4 / 6 / 8 wires). Suitable for any small-and-medium automatic equipment with CNC controller, such as X-Y-Z tables, labeling machines, laser cutters, engraving machines, and pick-place devices.

Sent a similar but different part

Did not send the item shown in the photo. The case is semi-plastic. There is no thermal paste between the heat sink and the thermal block. There is also a painted coating between the cooler and the thermoblock. Function not checked yet.

Easy to use Best in Controls

Schematic was not included, controller only, so make sure you get the info from the product page or other online sources. I tested this on a small NEMA 17, 1A motor and controlled it with an Arduino. Had fun seeing that they did all the microstepping adjustments. The radiator did not heat up at all with this light load. The inputs are LED optocouplers (8-15mA) and since both the anode and cathode connections are open, you can treat these inputs as active-low or active-high with your own wiring.

Useful if you need more amps

For most small stepper motor applications (e.g. 3D printing) this driver would be overkill. Small "step joystick" style PC mount drivers are ideal for these applications. However, from time to time you will need more than 3 amps of drive current for tasks such as CNC machining or machine tool upgrades. This block is ideal for these requirements. "32 divisions" refers to microstepping, a technique that divides a gait cycle into multiple parts. In practice, this should not be viewed as a way to…
