Review on πŸ”Œ MicroStepping Subdivision Controller: Stepper DC9 42V by John Brazington

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Useful if you need more amps

For most small stepper motor applications (e.g. 3D printing) this driver would be overkill. Small "step joystick" style PC mount drivers are ideal for these applications. However, from time to time you will need more than 3 amps of drive current for tasks such as CNC machining or machine tool upgrades. This block is ideal for these requirements. "32 divisions" refers to microstepping, a technique that divides a gait cycle into multiple parts. In practice, this should not be viewed as a way to increase resolution, but rather to improve smoothness and reduce resonance problems. Other drivers offer up to 256 microstepping levels, but the practical value of this specification is debatable. This driver works when you need a little more performance. recommended
