I recently had a clogged sink and found food cartridges lined up. I've seen these sink guards that have drain holes that are much smaller than the drain pipes sold at local hardware stores. Easy to install: just plug it into the drain hole. You catch everything. It costs money.

This strainer is very well made and durable. It's only 1" deep so it doesn't touch the bottom of the drain. A regular strainer is 1.5 inches deep so it touches the drain fitting and won't drain water, especially if there are particles already in the strainer. . I highly recommend it!

We bought them for ourselves and others. It is very durable and will not rust. I've been using ours for years. They are easy to throw in the trash and easy to rinse out. We have also given it to others who have asked for them and they love them too! Ideal for home and gifts.

When I first bought it, I was a little hesitant because of the price. But since using them I love them and money well spent! It is one piece, small drainage holes are not wire but part of the whole block. It fits perfectly in the sink while the other brand doesn't so I would have to manually push the food scraps into the colander.

I have used wire mesh screens but they quickly became difficult to clean and the wire sometimes fell out of the ring and turned into sharp needles that could pierce your finger. The perforated metal basket of this strainer makes it easy to empty and clean. These strainers fit snugly into their rings and fit perfectly into the sink drain. No sharp edges, heavy enough to last a long time. Glad I ordered!
