Black spot weld on handle

Three screen filters received. Smaller and larger are good, but not medium. The handle is twisted. A blackish sweat stain is clearly visible on the handle of the skimmer. Low quality!

Ideal for draining a small pot of pasta

Very happy with this purchase. Ideal for cooking pasta in a small saucepan. I can take the pasta out of the pot and drain the water. Sometimes you just want to cook a small batch of pasta and don't want to get out the big strainer, that's perfect.

Frying Made Easy for Cookware

If you fry in a pan, skillet or small fryer, buy one. So easy to work with no matter what you're frying. Continuous. The range makes it easy to find the right size, depending on what you're working with. Put them in the dishwasher or wash them by hand - either way, they're easy to clean.

My grandmother loves her.

My grandma loves them. She never knew they even existed. I know they're for frying, but she uses them to get the mail out of a pot of water. She can't lift a big pot anymore (she turned 91 this January). This allowed her to retain some freedom in the kitchen. I just clean the pot with water later.

  • Great price
Cons
  • I'm worried

Great price, easy cleanup

I was surprised at the high price of the Cook's Illustrated pick and I'm glad this set of 3 is a lot cheaper. I wanted a sieve with heavier turns in an endless loop instead of my old Chinese twisted wire (which traps food like a rapacious alien monster). They are MUCH easier to clean and I like having 3 sizes. I use them to lift tea bags out of my gallon teapot with iced veggies, but haven't tried it on anything really heavy, so I don't know about their flexibility.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Poor quality - you get what you paid for

I hate to give a bad review but this is just terrible quality. All 3 had some defect. No quality control! The only one that can be salvaged is the middle one, which has a sharp point that I could trim off with wire cutters. You would think that something as simple as wire circles would be hard to screw up. The welding looks like it was done by a drunk person - or someone was just in a hurry to finish something. Frustrated, just save yourself the headache, get in the bath and get one of these.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Simple and well done.

Simple, functional, beautiful. I really appreciate that the handles have little rubber grommets in the holes to keep water out when washing. This is my pet peeve, I hate pots with hollow handles, once water gets in it's difficult to get it out without effort and you just know it will sit there and mold. Pooh. This may be the first time I've seen an attempt to stop this and I appreciate it. So far I've only used the big one to fish fried foods like fried shrimp out of a pot of boiling oil and it

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
