📚 Strathmore 580-42 500 Series Sequential Art Bristol with 2-Ply Vellum Surface - 24 Sheets Review

I would give 5 stars if it was the item described. I ordered a Bristol board lamellar (very smooth) finish, but they sent me a parchment-like (textured) finish instead - not so good for a fountain pen or technical fountain sequence art. Although this parchment paper is great for pencils. I will be ordering the correct item from another seller as I suspect it is either a parchment top or a random mix of plates and parchment plaques where you get whatever you loot.

Luckily the paper arrived in fairly good condition but the standard plastic protective film was not included. The lid is slightly bent, but that's okay. Very good cotton drawing paper. Sometimes there are tiny errors on the paper, such as B. Stains of paint that can be carefully removed with an Xacto blade or simply left in place. In general, the purchase is very satisfied. But beware, the price varies! I had a hard time finding the VELLUM finish at my local art store.

Pros: Easy to draw, paint well. Great weight and durability for ink line art if you work at a reasonable pace. The finished originals look great. Cons: very jagged surface *not smooth at all*, ink may run a bit if you work slowly. Especially when filling in black areas with a brush *compared to other professional comic boards*.
