I love these sandals for my 6 year old daughter and she was able to put them on and wear them from day one with no problems. This is an 'updated' version of the discontinued summer sandals and to be honest the Stride Rite really should have been left alone. The previous version was like a light, airy play shoe put on; almost sneakers. My little one ran and jumped and played for hours and looked cute and did so for several years; We just kept increasing the size as it grew. These summer sandals are just sandals. I always buy Stride Rite sandals, but these are the first ones I find inferior. The fact that they look like a T-strap, but the velcro of the strap over the "T" looks unattractive - they have to go through the "T" and not overlap it. Also, the back of the shoe is so unstable on my daughter's foot that I am returning it. Why this sandal was made with an open back is unclear - it lacks the construction to securely hold a child's foot in place. Because of this, her foot kept slipping from behind…
