Description of ๐ฅ Enhancing Precision and Safety: Studio Pro Soldering Iron Stand
Well-balanced for stability. Heavy steel coiled wire cage prevents iron from touching the work surface and protects hands and nearby objects. Convenient sponge and sponge-well allows for quick and easy cleaning of iron during use. Designed to hold all major irons. Contains base, coiled wire cage and sponge.
Disappointed when the product arrived in an open package, the sponge is rusty, the date on the package is 2007 and it looks like it is open the shelf for 11 years and apparently newly pasted. The stand itself feels solid, and while it was wheeled out of its original packaging alongside my other purchases, everything made it through the journey in a Revain box.
This is exactly what I wanted. cast iron and heavy. If you buy tin coasters, they are not as stable and will move when you wipe the iron. You need a cast iron base. There might be a reason to prefer one of the lighter versions of these soldering iron stands, I'm not sure. But I'm sure if you want to hold the top but have a foothold, fine. . . stand, then you need a cast iron base.
After purchasing several of these holders with a lightweight base that slides anywhere and a spring part that spins endlessly around the base, all I had to do was hunt my iron holder around. Bank. I use HAKKO irons and this one is perfect. The iron sits firmly in the holder as it should. The holder is made in the form of a tank. The base is heavy, so stick with it. I just ordered another one for my tool box. Very satisfied.
