Great pin, large with lots of thoughtful holes. The problem is, unless you plan on screwing it to a table (I bought it for portability), the clip will protrude enough to ruin your work if it's a certain size. And since it's not inclined, you can't avoid it. I've started filing it but I only have metal files, the wood is hard and it takes forever. This is a simple fix for the maker: make a deeper groove. ! Please, then it would be perfect.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • boring packaging

Practically perfect!

Having a solid maple desk (NOT a true jeweler's desk) with casters on the legs, and the fact that the desk sits on a rug, I was concerned that securing it with the included clamp would make everything equally would result in a wobbly work surface. No problem! I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, along with the spectacular GreenLion jewelers saw, and it's just perfect, everything holds up solidly with no need to drill the mounting bracket in place. It's perfect so I can easily remove it

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

My filing is much more precise now that it's properly secured, and I no longer bend the metal by snapping the file like I did when holding it in a vise. Good quality clamp and wood. I made a modification by purchasing a slotted nut until the clip was flush with the top of the block. If you don't, the clamp will pride itself on being 3/32" since I'm working with 4 x 6" pieces of…
