Description of 🔧 Studor Redi-Vent 20346 Air Admittance Valve with PVC Adapter, 1.5-2" Connection

Compact air admittance valve with PVC adapter; ideal for a single fixture or group of fixtures up to 20 DFUs (drain fixture units) on a branch. Creates ventilation that prevents the loss of water seal in trap. Uses gravity to automatically close seal and prevent circulation of unpleasant bathroom or drain odors. Fits 1-1/2-inch and 2-inch piping; temperature rating of -40°F to 150°F (-40°C to 65.6°C); complies to ANSI/ASSE 1050 and 1051; this style air admittance valve is not recognized as a mechanical vent in the International Building Code. Exclusive vermin protection system keeps out bugs and foreign objects.

Roof Penetration. An outside vent was all the code needed (FL) and we sent it from the laundry to the back of the house. We used one for each bathroom, one for the kitchen, and one for the laundry room (actually a bit of an overstatement). One failed after 2 years and is easily replaced. For my Rough Plumbing RV

I had a bird smell from the closet under the sink in my RV bathroom. All the information I found on the internet was about treating the tank with waste water treatment products. Eliminates odors

I smell like sewage gas in my RV bathroom. I wasn't sure if the source was the air inlet (vent) valve under the sink or the toilet flange gasket. I placed a freezer bag over the vent and sealed it securely with duct tape. After a few hours the smell was gone so I knew the ventilation was poor.
