Description of SÜA ER4043 Aluminum Welding Pack

ER4043, commonly referred to as “AlSi5", has a 5% silicon and is the oldest and one of the most widely used aluminum welding wires for general purpose applications. Less sensitive to weld cracking than other aluminum alloys and the 5% silicon content lowers the melting point, increases fluidity of the weld puddle and leaves a bright shiny weld deposit. ER4043 is commonly used for welding grades 6061, 6063, 5052, 3004, 3003 and cast alloys 356.0, 357.0, 413.0, and 443.0 to name just a few. Melting range is 1065 °F– 1170 °F, density is 0.097 lbs/in3 and post anodizing color is gray. ***READ THIS: Main image is for reference only. The rods did not come in a container.

Ordered from this company because there was a plastic container for the rods in the photo of the product. They were tied together with two rubber bands. To me, that's a bit of false advertising.

Pros
  • Welding equipment and accessories
Cons
  • Modern

Works, best price.

I'm more used to working with stainless steel, so the volume seemed very good to me, a little more than I expected. Worked well for welding a flat bar around the back of my ramp trailer. Just a note, make sure you use 100% tungsten for aluminum welding. I've had 2% thorium mostly and it really tears it up and you don't get a very stable arc.

Pros
  • Available diameters: 0.045", 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16". Packages available: 1lb, 2lb, 5lb and 10lb. Choose your preferred option from the size menu.
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

Glued and Damaged Bars

Do not buy! Use glue to put the caps on, the glue then flows into the bars making them absolutely horrible to weld and you have to scrape off every bit of putty before you can weld the amount of glue used. just ridiculous, every welding rod was covered with white haze, save yourself the hassle, don't buy this product, it's complete garbage

Pros
