Did the job.: Rough plumbing

Connections worked great on a 14 AWG submersible pump I replaced. The heat shrink tubing needed a bit more heat to seal well. I had to use a small butane gas torch to get the job done properly. The connections were watertight when complete.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Fits 12ga UF in most conditions

I used it to connect a 12ga UF cable to a pump in my septic tank. The previous owner used a flare nut which failed as expected due to condensation and corrosion. It may be an overstatement, but it's been working well for a few months now.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Some cons

Works - the installed cable is submerged in water.

Does what it promises. A good quality crimping tool would have made the installation easier as I actually had to rely on it. But the product is not to blame. It was used to replace the cable on two submersible pumps (fully submersible connection). both works without problems.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Great product.: Pipe Fittings

These are the splice kits you need for say a well or pipe, you want a watertight connection and don't need to worry about it. I prefer this brand because the tubes are clear so you can visually see and track the melt knowing you haven't missed a single spot. I always keep a few kits on hand to use on the farm. A++

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Strip the wires carefully and take your time

They work really well but it took two tries to get it right. After the first try, the GFCI worked, so I realized something was wrong. I made the connections again from scratch, being VERY careful not to cut the wires. My only advice would be for the user to strip the wires very slowly and methodically. Also, when heating the pipes, be careful not to burn the wire insulation. Bottom Line: Take the time to get it right and the product works very well.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Useless features
