I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

The first time they stuck a regular substrate, I had to return it and reorder it. On the second attempt, they sent what I needed. All in all a great filter media. The approximate diameter of the balls is 10 mm.

Pros
  • - Good quality filler.
Cons
  • - Price

A great option for this money, one of the best offers.

I have been using it for over 5 years. I change the filler 1 time in 3-4 years. Since I have 3 baskets with filler in the external filter (1 basket - ceramic rings, 2 and 3 - SubstratPro), I advise you to change first in basket 3 (the last one in terms of water flow) when replacing, and then after about a month change in the remaining one - so you will least damage the nitrogen cycle in the aquarium.

Pros
  • Time-tested excellent filler for biological water purification in the aquarium.
Cons
  • Expensive.

By far my favorite bio carrier

I have 2 Eheim Pro 4+ filters (1-350 and 1-600) that fit this carrier. I bought a Fluval FX6, replaced the crappy bio rings and filled the baskets with this stuff. I absolutely love this medium. There were excellent results. I'm sorry Fluval uses the Eheim material in your filter, but this is by far my favorite material.

This is the best that has no equal.

An unbeatable product. It works for me in all three of my filters for both of my tanks. Definitely keeps nitrates under control. The perfect size if it doesn't quite fall into my canister filter bowl so no bag is needed to hold it. You can't go wrong with this. It's even better than Matrix.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Protection

Helps with filtration in the Marineland refillable plastic cartridge

Helps more when placed in the Marineland refillable plastic cartridge. I use different biological media and mechanical filtration. My white muddy ponds cleared up within 3 days of adding this stuff: 1.) Seachem Carbon 2.) Marineland Zeolite 3.) 100 Micron Polishing Filter Pad.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Frequency

Excellent Biological Environments

I have never used this aquarium filler. When starting a new Betta aquarium, after some research I decided to try it as a medium in a filter. It worked great. The tank's initial cycle was smoother than I've ever experienced and performance has been stable with regular maintenance ever since. I plan on replacing the HOB filter gasket with this media so it will work as well in the future.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not sure

Very glad I found these.

After watching a few YouTube videos on how to set up aquarium filters by this Brit, I looked up the biological filter media he was selling and found these. I was a little skeptical at first, but since installing it I've thought nothing of it. I'm using an Aquatop DF200 with a half crate on the last (top) canister tier. I put foam and mechanical filters on the bottom like he suggested, plastic bioballoons in the middle and these on top. I placed my old bio-ceramic tubes all the way down to allow

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Useless features

A good thing. A 2 liter box fills a tray.

good stuff. A 2 liter box fills a bowl of my SunSun 303B canister filter. My kids (ie me) inherited a 20 gallon tank with 5 goldfish in it and as everyone knows it's a VERY bad overkill. As you can imagine, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate were above supercritical levels. Took a cheap Sunsun canister and put some in it. I did a few water changes to bring all levels down right away, but now that I have a few trays full of this stuff my ammonia and nitrates are ZERO! Is always. I still have to change
