Should be replaced with a new burner.

Well, you should change the burner for a new one. The hot water tank did not light up every time. Couldn't see how bad the burner was until I removed it. Inside it was rusty and sooty. After replacing the burner, it burns perfectly.

Black Smear works best with conversion kits

Small black smoke specks appear on the motor home water heater exhaust, a lot of rust was found in the burner area and this pipe is in very poor condition. I removed all the rust and replaced it with this expensive pipe but the smoke stain was gone. The fit was accurate.

Replacement item that dirty dobbers have taken over!

We decided to order this part for our 261BHXL Forest River Cruise Lite Camper because Dirty Dobbers decided to build a nice nest into an existing piece. This may or may not have been necessary, but we solved an issue with a water heater and this part has been recommended on various forums. It was delivered as promised and installed as requested.

Easy exchange, you won't regret it!

I heard the water heater tried to start but to no avail. There are calls to RV repair shops that have been booked for weeks. After several rides I did some more research, it turned out that this part was rusty and wouldn't let the fire ignite. I replaced this in less than 5 minutes and boom, the water heater caught fire. You won't be disappointed with the troubleshooter if your problems are similar to mine.

Pros
  • Great for me

  • Upgradeable

What you see is not what you get

The pipe is not brass like in the photo, it is galvanized. Same as the rotten galvanized one I replaced. Don't you think they'll put a nut on it? The threaded mounting pin is MADE of brass, and it's for a reason - to keep the nut from rusting and sticking to the post. If you put a standard zinc plated nut on it you will probably have a hard time removing it to free up the pipe over time. Do they really think everyone is a Suburban technician with the right fasteners? Get a 1/4-20 brass nut and…
