perfect. The old huge pot lights have been removed to put in thin LEDs and the hole is a little big. It's fixed and everything is fine now

We had to close the hole about 1/2 inch when we switched from can downlights to low profile LED lights. They worked great and look like they were part of the new headlights.

Bought some LED adapters to replace the ugly old ones. Unfortunately the old can lights weren't 6 inches, they were over 7 inches in diameter so the adapters fell right through the hole. Add those silly rings and everything looks gorgeous. The problem is solved.

I received Sunco GR56 rings to work with the retrofit kit (equivalent Utilitech 65w white dimmable ceiling light) but these rings will also work with other retrofit kits depending on size etc. Practically flat plastic rings , no protrusions or fancy design accents. Compared to more expensive branded rings like the HALO OT403P, these Sunco rings are heavier/thicker and also have a slightly larger external dimension.

When I switched the ceiling lights from fluorescent to LED I tore out part of the drywall. I use them as a quick fix, but they are so thick and heavy that the new LED lights can't sit flush. These rings increase the weight of the lamp, causing it to fall from the ceiling. Also note that they are a matte color and the finish of my ceiling lights is glossy so they don't match very well. I used glue to secure them and hopefully nobody will notice the color variation.
