Make new furniture out of old ones!

Recipe: 1/3 c. boiled linseed oil, 1/3 tbsp. turpentine, 1/3 tbsp. white vinegar - shake well. Apply with a soft cloth and wipe dry with a second soft cloth. Label clearly and keep out of the reach of children!

Pros
  • Provides an even, strong, elastic and glossy film
Cons
  • So far, so good

Packaging may damage the jar

For those who couldn't open the lid. It's a protective cap, just like antifreeze. Click on the cover and then turn it over. It is easy to remove. Haven't used the product but put it in a plastic bag in case it spills in a dent.

Pros
  • Product PT Boiled Linseed Oil
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Wood left with nice finish

Used to seal some maple shelves. Mixed with some thinner as recommended and it worked great. The wood has saturated the first three coats giving it a nice warm tone and bringing out the texture. Very happy with the results. The best part is that it arrived in two days.

Pros
  • Linseed derived
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Your average linseed oil in a nightmare container

Like linseed oil, it works like a charm. Totally normal. But the reviews don't exaggerate when they say it's impossible to open. I had to get the lighter to the lid and finally it worked. Even though he hurt his hand. At least my soapstone sculpture is nice and oiled.

Pros
  • Made in China
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Just use it and see how well it works.

I don't know what other people have been talking about if the container is difficult to open. Maybe it's different for me, but anyway I've used this product on the handles of both of my blacksmith's hammers and it has worked incredibly well. It can be applied thickly, but absorbs very quickly. Really leaves no odor, doesn't leave a greasy or sticky feel. The grip just feels smooth and solid. It's hard to explain, just take it and use it.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Expandable

Very strong scent but absorbs well

I have always avoided linseed oil but decided to give it a try. Some reviewers have mentioned they even put it on their cutting boards. Well, I'm not sure what they were thinking because Sunnyside specifically says on their website that they don't use this or untreated on food prep surfaces. In this case, I think common sense had to play a role as well. At first this bottle was very difficult to open, I think because it is dangerous for children. After opening, the chemical smell became very…

Pros
  • Used to lengthen and strengthen oil based finishes
Cons
  • Not sure
