Excellent filter. Has compartments for adding your own filter media or sticks with included sponge. I bought this for my 55 gallon tank and would say it's overpowered - very overpowered. I blocked the inlet with a sponge because it's very strong, but my water is crystal clear and the bacteria are happy.

i bought this head to solve an algae problem. I removed the sponge filter and cut out a piece of high density foam to replace it and I no longer have 30 gallon algae problems.
