Description of Supco PIT1 Infrared Thermometer Accuracy

Digital thermometer for measuring temperature in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning applications, including refrigeration and heating systems, supply and return registers, circuit breaker panels, motors and bearings, transformers, and ducts. Measures temperature from -33 to 220 degrees C (-27 to 428 degrees F), with an accuracy of + or - 2 degrees C (4 degrees F). Infrared sensor measures temperature from a distance. 1:1 distance-to-spot ratio. Adjustable emissivity helps improve measurement accuracy on a range of surface types.

Inaccurate and Unreliable Infrared Thermometer

As a result of using this product, I found that the readings were often inaccurate and inconsistent, making it unreliable for my needs. While it was easy to use and had a compact design the poor accuracy outweighs any benefits.I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a thermometer in the Tools and Home Improvement category..

Big, small, useful, especially for wine lovers

Infrared thermometers of all shapes and sizes abound. I like this Supco PIT1 Pocket Infrared Thermometer because it is easy to put in a wallet or pocket. It's so small and easy to carry. There are times when it's useful to know the temperature of something. Forehead. Air. car dashboard. And wine!
