The product comes with the wrong part to complete the installation. I had to take the part I needed out of the old product. Hope these hold up.

I just fitted them but they were the exact length of the originals (maybe they were replaced by the previous owner). When I first decided to close the hood, I had to use quite a bit of pressure to move it. I like the fact that they have an extra dust cover on the cylinder. I think this should help protect the seals in the future. And, of course, a pair costs a lot less than one from Toyota.

I heard about these hood lifter braces from a friend. At first I was very skeptical. They were installed on a 2007 Avalon Touring that I bought used. The Avalon had no struts; he came with a broomstick! The shelves arrived neatly packed in a cardboard box. I had to attach the clamps by screwing them to the posts, but nothing special.
