Very thin. My cat who weighs 10 pounds fell off the shelf. We didn't nail it as the product says it will hold 20 pounds without screws. We throw it away. The cat got frightened and won't even come to the window anymore.

This product is VERY thin and as everyone says the board actually comes on hinges to make shipping cheaper and the hinges fall apart very easily. I plan to return it because it definitely won't help my cat. The only reason it gets 2 stars and not 1 is because the foam pad it comes with is pretty good, but that doesn't make up for the fact that I wouldn't trust it to support a hamster without anything to say about my cat

Our cat Spencer is thrilled! The only issue I had was that the small screws holding the hinges came loose as soon as I took it out of the box. I screwed in a few larger screws, but I'll say it's cheap chipboard, so they're easy to pull out. This shouldn't be a problem after installation. I screwed it directly to the window sill when installing it on a screened in porch. Let's see how it holds up.

My cat Kevin can't use any other cat perch (with a suction cup) because his sister is stealing it. I also HATE suction cups because they get less sticky over time. So I bought this. It's durable, has plenty of space (both my cats could fit on it at the same time) and the bed is comfortable. Only complaint, I was quite confused with the directions at first. Had to ask a friend for help and they too were confused for a few minutes. However, once we figured it out, it was easy to set up.

I bought this because my cat really liked the same product from another company. The difference in quality was alarming, especially since they were roughly the same price. The screws fell out of most of the hinges and wouldn't tighten, and the velcro was halfway to the center of the board. I used to buy this from Bed Bath and Beyond and it was a one piece shelf (chipboard) with the necessary hardware. The one I bought online from Revain comes in a small box and the manufacturer basically cut the shelf in two (for shipping purposes) and used 2 very cheap hinges that fell apart as soon as I opened it. I have marble windowsills. I wanted to buy a windowsill for my cats. I've tried suction cups, but I live in Florida and suction cups come out of the heat at least every few days. So I thought this model would be better. Since the only security measures I could use were staples and velcro on the windowsill, they are very unstable and cats don't use them. The product fell apart as soon as I took it out of the box. The packaging foam was torn by an object and spilled everywhere (picture) - very unsafe for cats. For anyone writing bad reviews about how cheap this product is and the hinges are breaking off the board. it's because you were too lazy to install it properly! It's an easy 10 minute install! Most importantly you have to use velcro which means you have to attach it to the windowsill OR they were kind enough to drill you 2 holes in the base of the bed AND send you mounting screws if you just want to attach it sill. .
