does not work: computers and accessories

I bought a router a few months ago and accidentally didn't try it right away. Unfortunately when I tried it it was after a possible return date. My mistake. The thing just doesn't work. The signal appears and disappears after a few minutes. Even with a working router, I couldn't connect to DHCP and get an IP address. I've never been able to connect to the internet through a router. money thrown away.

Pros
  • Network security with 128-bit WEP encryption - supports 64/128-bit WEP
Cons
  • Not sure

To be honest I don't have much experience with wireless networks.

To be honest I don't have much experience with wireless USB dongles, I think for $20 I got what I expected. He's doing his job. It gets quite warm during use, there may be more energy efficient alternatives if battery life is an issue. I originally bought it for another project where I wanted to use AP mode, but it never worked out. I haven't tried AP mode, so I can't comment on this functionality. I'm using Win7 64 bit and it works at least in wifi mode. Not sure what the other reviewer meant…

Pros
  • Wireless transmission rates of up to 150 Mbit/s can be achieved using MIMO technology and channel bonding.
Cons
  • Not everything fits.

Poor quality - keeps dropping connection

I just received this router today and have set up many wireless and wired networks in the past. The overview refers to the wireless router function of the device, not the Wi-Fi USB card function. The router is definitely not the best quality and looks very cheap. The instructions get 2 out of 5 points. I got the same results as the other posts, the connection kept dropping. I've found that if I turn on the router without an ethernet connection and then plug in the ethernet connection, the…

Pros
  • Combine Access Point (AP), PPPoE and USB wireless LAN in one device

You don't even get what you pay for.

If I had seen other reviews before ordering this adapter I would have read them skipped. The device offers minimal security encryption and minimal SSID setup. The device only accepts 5 digit passphrase and you can only change the SSID numbers, you cannot change the name. Also, the device does not support non-broadcast SSIDs. The manual says in one small spot: don't try to use the device in hotspot mode unless you're using the AC adapter. Attempting to operate the device in access point mode…
