Card limited to 3 Gbps

The card works at wired speed when 1 port is used, but when both ports are used the total speed does not exceed 3Gbps. While this is still 50% better than 2 x 1Gb/s cards, it is still far from what the theoretical specs should allow. The same system with 2 cards with 1 2.5Gbps port offers near wired speeds and another dual port. The PCIe x4 card did the same. In these circumstances, I would recommend either sticking with cards that have a single 2.5GB port or getting a better dual port card.

Pros
  • This PCI-based 10/100/1000/25000 dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet NIC provides easy connectivity to two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet networks and is fully compatible with virtual 802.1Q. LAN tag (VLAN). And an IEEE802 compliant Ethernet card. 3, IEEE802. 3U and IEEE802. 3ab.
Cons
  • socket required.
